DILIGENTLY OBEYING GOD’S INSTRUCTIONS – Deuteronomy 28:1–12
INTRODUCTION.
Beloved, the foundation of a victorious and blessed life in Christ is obedience to God’s instructions. In Deuteronomy 28:1–12, God clearly reveals a covenant principle:
“If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all His commands… all these blessings will come upon you.”
This is not a suggestion—it is a divine condition. Blessings are not accidental; they are products of obedience.
- WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO OBEY DILIGENTLY? Diligent obedience means:
Complete obedience (not partial)
Consistent obedience (not occasional)
Careful obedience (intentional and attentive)
God is not looking for convenience obedience; He is looking for commitment obedience.
Many people want the blessings of God, but they ignore the instructions of God.
- THE POWER OF OBEDIENCE
When you obey God diligently, several things happen:
a. You Activate Divine Blessings God promises that blessings will overtake you—you won’t need to chase them.
Blessed in the city
Blessed in the field
Blessed in your going out and coming in
b. You Walk in Divine Favor Obedience positions you where favor locates you easily.
c. You Experience Supernatural Provision God opens His “good treasure”—heaven itself—to supply your needs.
- THE BLESSINGS ATTACHED TO OBEDIENCE (Deut. 28:1–12)
When you obey diligently, God releases:
- Elevation – “The Lord will set you high above all nations”
- Fruitfulness – In your body, land, and labor
- Victory over enemies – They come one way, flee seven ways
- Abundance – You will lend and not borrow
- Divine establishment – God confirms you as His own
Beloved, obedience is the key that unlocks covenant blessings.
- WHY MANY MISS THESE BLESSINGS
Many believers struggle because:
They hear God’s Word but don’t do it
They practice selective obedience
They delay obedience (and delayed obedience is disobedience)
You cannot walk in disobedience and expect divine manifestation.
- HOW TO WALK IN DILIGENT OBEDIENCE
a. Hear God Clearly Spend time in the Word and prayer.
b. Act Immediately When God speaks, don’t argue—respond.
c. Trust God Completely Even when it doesn’t make sense, obey Him.
d. Remain Consistent Obedience is not a one-time act; it is a lifestyle.
- JESUS – OUR PERFECT EXAMPLE Jesus Christ demonstrated ultimate obedience:
“He became obedient unto death…”
If Christ obeyed fully, then we as believers must also walk in total obedience.
CONCLUSION
Beloved, the difference between struggle and overflow is obedience.
God has already prepared blessings for you—but they are triggered by diligence in following His instructions.
Today, make a decision:
“Lord, I will not just hear Your Word—I will obey it diligently.”
PRAYER POINTS:
Father, give me the grace to obey You completely in Jesus’ name.
- Every spirit of disobedience in my life, be destroyed by fire!
- Lord, align my heart with Your instructions.
- I receive the blessings of obedience—let them manifest in my life!
- Father, help me to walk consistently in Your will.
PROPHETIC DECLARATION:
You will not miss your season of blessing! As you obey God diligently, may His blessings locate you, overtake you, and remain with you permanently in Jesus’ Name!
